The Artist - Cindy Rae Fancher
Howdy from Texas and welcome to Cindy Rae Fancher Art.
I am an artist proudly venturing forth into my second life. In late 2018 I retired as an administrator for a Public District after a 35 Year corporate career in various Project Management roles.
My first career forced me to be decidedly left brained, but as I grew older I found I was aching to bring more fun and color into others lives and my own. For so long my friends and coworkers had asked me if I sold my paintings and I talked of my dream to own an art business and paint every day if I wanted to. So I took the leap late 2018 and here I am.
I am a self taught, experimental and color loving artist. Several years of prompting from God, friends and family to share my Emu (Mu) paintings and other art has finally resonated and enabled me to invite you to join my journey and share my passion for creating. I believe we all have some kind of creative inside us, just waiting to be freed!
I am a huge fan of acrylic and encaustic media also using acrylic and alcohol inks, water colors, gouache, oil pastels, art crayon, pencils, graphite and other materials to bring what I call my "heart’s-eye" to life. The "heart’s-eye" is not what I see with my eyes, rather it is what my spirit and heart see and find in the blank page or canvas. I am so honored to bring what my “heart’s-eye” feels and sees to life through my creative process. Silly as it might sound, I love that first moment of looking at a new canvas and wondering what will have come to life when it is done?
I thrive on putting different pigment transparencies, papers, textures, and jewelry together and I am so excited to share my process and approaches with you. The result is original art that is uniquely mine and God's. My hope is that you will make my art a special part of your life also. That they will speak to you and pull you into your own journey. Join me, to seek out the unseen and pull whatever is hiding in our media out for all of us to graced by and to admire and enjoy.
I am a mostly retired Director of Project Management, I do some part time consulting. I am graced with living what I consider is a joyful life filled by inspiration from God and all I meet. Even the smallest words can influence where I go with my art and that is exciting! I look forward to sharing my humor, stories about creating art on the lake and a new love for creating while RVing, in "Big Lola", it becomes even more interesting and humorous with my 2 pups, Buddy and Reckless.
All that is left to say now is let’s get creating and have a beautiful Mu day!

For a 2013 Christmas Party White Elephant gift exchange, while working for Houston Independent School District, Cindy Rae painted this little guy as her gift. It was so well received and desired, the smiles and laughter started it all. What could be better than bringing a moment of joy to others? Voila the Cindy Rae Mu was born! One of these little guys can make you smile everyday...
While "Blue MU" is now in the private collection of white elephant winner, prints are available. In addition, there are many of his original brothers and sisters available in the Original MUs.
Cindy Rae creates abstract encaustic pieces with the finest encaustic products and alcohol inks. The results are stunning in their depth and saturated color.
The depth and translucence of encaustics is hard to ignore. Either as an original or reprint on paper or canvas they are unique, beautiful and intriguing.
Encaustics are in both originals and prints.
Committed to Multi Media and Reclaiming Found Items
Cindy Rae is compelled when creating to utilize many tools to complete her paintings. Found or recycled items especially make her smile and the resulting joy is illustrated in her paintings.
A Slightly Tribal Feel
This canvas is only one example of the tribal / symbol related works that Cindy Rae loves to tell a story with. What does this say to you?
