Starting a Creative Community
As I have previously mentioned I am a left brain thinker, I have the certifications to prove it! In late 2018 I opted to retire and get that right brain more engaged with the left! I have my art business and also do project management consulting. They work pretty well together and I am happier than I remember being.
In late May my life focus began shifting. I have been taking two different classes to learn Adobe Illustrator and Surface Pattern Design. One of them, The Pattern Design Academy hosted and taught by Anne LaFollette, someone I have come to really respect and admire. She recreated her life in her late fifties after having had a devastating experience of being laid off by her long term employer. After 3 years she determined that there was a new path for her and she began revitalizing her life with creativity. She is an amazing, kind business woman who also is very interested in helping others fulfill their dreams and career goals.
Being exposed to her and with my own beliefs and experiences throughout my career, thoughts began to bubble in my head. It caused me realize that there was a new career path I should pursue. I heard a voice in my head telling me that there is a place for a paid membership site that focuses on helping people become more creative. Not necessarily to develop art or become artists, although they would benefit also, rather the focus should be on developing their capabilities to adapt their approach to life so that it includes confident creative thinking.
This is a focus shift, a pivot, for me and I am very excited about the opportunity to grow while helping people live the lives they want to have. The video below is a recording of an interview Anne did with me on the spur of the moment last week. I was honored and tickled that she invited me to talk about the result of my listening to my inner voice. I can't thank Anne enough.

Thank you Roy, I am too young to be retired anyway!
Glad to see you pivot and find something you love to do
